(1) Mr. Salim Khan (DOB – 24 November 1935 in Indore, MP) – He is an Indian actor, film producer and screenwriter. As a screenwriter, he wrote the screenplays, stories and scripts for numerous Bollywood films. Salim Khan started his career in the world of films as an actor. She first played a small role in the 1960 film Baaraat. Over the next decade, he acted in what he calls “indifferent roles,” playing minor characters in about two dozen films. Then she met Javed Akhtar, who worked as an assistant writer for films. They both started writing films as a pair of Salim Javed. In 1971, Salim Javed wrote the story and script for the film Haathi Mere Saathi. The film proved to be a huge hit. After that the pair of Salim-Javed wrote the story and script of many blockbuster films. The duo were the first Indian screenwriters to achieve star status in Hindi cinema, and became the most successful Indian screenwriters of all time. While working together, Salim Khan was largely responsible for developing the stories and characters. Salim-Javed revolutionised Indian cinema in the 1970s, transforming and reinventing the Bollywood formula, pioneering the Bollywood blockbuster format and pioneering genres such as the masala film and the Dacoit Western. Salim Khan was also responsible for creating the “angry young man” character archetype of Amitabh Bachchan. Their films are among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, including Sholay (1975), the highest-grossing Indian film ever at the time, as well as films such as Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Zanjeer (1973), Deewaar (1975), Kranti (1981), and the Don franchise. Sholay is also considered to be one of the greatest Indian films of all time. Khan is also known as the founder of the Salim Khan family, as the father of three Bollywood actors, Salman Khan (one of the big three Khans of Bollywood), Sohail Khan, and Arbaaz Khan, and film producer Alvira Khan Agnihotri. Salim Khan won six Filmfare Awards as part of Salim-Javed, and he was later awarded the Padma Shri in 2014.
(2) Mr. Amol Palekar (Born : 24 November 1944 in Mumbai) – He has been active in the avant garde theatre in India in Marathi and Hindi theatre as an actor, director and producer since 1967. His contribution to the modern Indian theatre is often overshadowed by his popularity as a lead actor in Hindi films. As a film actor, he was most prominent in the 1970s. His image as a “boy next door” contrasted with the larger-than-life heroes prevalent at that time in Indian cinema. He received one Filmfare award and six State awards as Best Actor. His performances in regional language films in Marathi, Bengali, Malayalam and Kannada fetched him critical acclaim as well. Palekar made his debut in 1971 with the Marathi film Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe directed by Satyadev Dubey, which started the New Cinema Movement in Marathi. In 1974 he was cast as an actor by Basu Chatterjee in Rajnigandha, and in the surprise low-budget hit, Chhoti Si Baat (1976).
