If you want to drive a car and bike, then you need a license for this. The process of getting a driving license in Bihar is a bit complicated. But if you become aware of the whole process, then you can apply to get it from yourself as well.
First of all, you should know what is the qualification of getting a driving license in Bihar? The minimum age limit to get a driving license in Bihar is 18 years. As far as the educational qualification is concerned, the Transport Department has not yet determined the minimum educational qualification for obtaining a driving license.
To get a driving license, one has to apply to get a learning license first. Nowadays, all applications are made online only. You go to the official website of the Transport Department (sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/sarathiservice/stateSelection.do) and first click on the application for learning license.
Click on the state button and select Bihar state. After that click on Apply for Learner License button. Then click the Continue button. After that select the Applicant does not hold Driving / Learner License button and then click on submit button.
After that, enter your mobile number and click on Generate OTP. After that an OTP will come on your mobile, which you write in the box containing OTP and click on the Authenticate with Sarathi button. After that, enter the name, address, date of birth, etc. in the next page which will open. After that select the Motorcycle with Gear (Non-Transport) (MCWG) and then click on the arrow button. After that, click on the light motor vehicles (LMV) again and then click on the arrow button and send it to the right box. Then click on submit button. MCWG includes every type of bike and scooty or scooter. Similarly, LMV includes all types of cars, SUVs, Jeeps, and other small four wheelers. After submitting, a message will come on the mobile, in which your application number will be marked.
Then click on Next button. Your application number and date of birth will be written in the next page which will come. Then click on ‘Print form 1′ button. Take a printout of Form 1, sign on that form and upload it to your computer by scanner. After that click the’ Upload Document’ button at the bottom of that page and click on the Proceed button. On proceeding, the document uploading page will open. First here is asking for age proof. Matriculation certificate or passport or PAN card or LIC policy certificate or birth certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation is valid for age proof. In these too, you have the document, scan it and upload it.
Then click on confirm button. Then click on address proof. Voter ID card, Aadhaar card etc. are valid for address proof. Upload it too. Go to the document again and select Form 1 and upload a photo of that form. And when the photos of the three documents are uploaded, click on the Next button. Upload your passport photo and signature photo in it.
After that click on the Fee payment and click on the Proceed button. For learning license, a fee of Rs 740 has to be paid. For this, select the name of your bank. After that make online payment of Rs 740.
After payment go to the above website again and book a slot for test. After book the slot, go to the DTO office and give your application to the counter of LL Test. After that, you will be called for a computer based test. In which 10 objective questions will be asked, which are related to transport rule and sign. If you give right answer of minimum 7 questions then you will be pass in that test. After 5 minutes of pass the exam, a link of your learning driving license will come on your mobile. After click on that link, you can download your learning driving license.
After one month of get learning license, book a slot for test for permanent license. For permanent license you have to pay fees Rs. 2340/- . After give the test of bike and car drive, department will issue permanent driving license, which will come to your home by registered post.
