In India, Assembly elections are scheduled every year in some or the other state. Every state has its assembly, whose members are elected by the local people of the state. General elections to the state assembly are held every five years. The elections of Delhi and Mumbai Corporation along with the Legislative Assembly of the states are also not less that of any assembly election. The Election Commission determines the date for all these. As per the current tenure, the next elections to the Legislative Assembly of the following states and the Corporation of Delhi and Mumbai are scheduled in 2024 and 2025 as follows –

- Delhi Assembly Election – February 2025 (Total seats – 70, Present CM – Arvind Kejriwal (Aam Aadmi Party))
- Bihar Assembly Election – November 2025 (Total Seats – 243, Present CM – Nitish Kumar (Janta Dal United Party / NDA))
- Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Mumbai – November 2025 (Total Seats – 227, Present Mayor – Kishori Pednekar, Shivsena)
- West Bengal Assembly Election – March – April 2026 (Total Seats – 294, Present CM – Mamta Benerjee (TMC Party))
- Kerala Assembly Election – April 2026 (Total Seats – 140, Present CM – Pinarayi Vijayan (Communist Party of India (Marxist) Party)
- Tamil Nadu Assembly Election – April 2026 (Total Seats – 234, Present CM – M. K. Stalin, DMK Party / India)
- Assam Assembly Election – April 2026 (Total Seats – 126, Present CM – Himanta Biswa Sarma, Bhartiy Janta Party)
- Puducherry Assembly Election – April 2026 (Total Seats – 30, Present CM – N. Rangaswamy, AINRC / NDA)
In General election 2024 BJP will loose. Rahul Gandhi will be PM.
Inflation and unemployment are going to be the biggest issues in the next general elections. Rahul Gandhi will become the Prime Minister.
