The central government has given a gift of happiness to lakhs of central employees by announcing the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission. With the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission, along with central government employees, state government employees will also get the benefit of salary hike. After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, the salary of government servants posted at Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and Grade 4 will increase and along with that the pension and family pension of retired government servants will also increase.
This increase will benefit gazetted officers, army personal , police, teachers, railway engineers, TTE, station master, Group D employees, engineers posted in government companies, workers etc.
The main focus of this Eighth Pay Commission will be on doubling the salary of employees working at lower level posts. Especially the basic salary of employees working at Group C and Group D level will be doubled. Along with this, the minimum basic salary of Agniveer soldiers working in the army is expected to be increased to more than Rs 45,000, due to which Agniveer soldiers can be ensured to get a salary in hand of at least Rs 80,000 to Rs 90,000 per month. Along with this, the salary of personnel working at the junior level in the army will also increase significantly.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, the minimum salary of the employees working on the following posts can be as follows.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, the monthly basic salary of teachers of government schools is expected to be at least Rs. 50,000.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, the minimum monthly basic salary of a police constable is expected to be Rs. 40,000.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, the minimum monthly basic salary of police sub-inspector level officers is expected to be Rs. 60,000.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, the minimum monthly basic salary of Group D employees of Railways is expected to be Rs. 35,000.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, the minimum monthly basic salary of Group C employees of Railways is expected to be Rs. 50,000.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, the minimum monthly basic salary of engineers working in government undertakings units is expected to be Rs. 1,00,000.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, the minimum monthly basic salary of employees working on clerical posts in banks is expected to be Rs. 50,000.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, the minimum monthly basic salary of employees working on clerical posts in government offices is expected to be Rs 50,000.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, many new levels can also be announced. The salary scale will be simplified.
After the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission, pensioners will also get benefits. Those receiving pension under the old pension scheme will get at least one and a half times the benefit, and those receiving pension under the new pension scheme will also get at least three times the increase. The government thinks that the amount of pension received under the old pension scheme and the new pension scheme should be almost equal.
After the Eighth Pay Commission, there is a plan to increase the wages of those receiving wages under MNREGA, which can be a minimum of Rs 700 per day.
The Eighth Pay Commission will be constituted in February 2025. In which a senior retired IAS officer will be made the President of this commission. This commission will present its recommendations in December 2027. Probably its recommendations will be implemented in the budget of 2028. The benefit of these recommendations will be payable from January 1, 2026.
