(1) Late Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani, popularly known as Dhirubhai Ambani (Born: December 28, 1932 at Junagadh, Died: July 6, 2002 at Mumbai) – He was a successful Indian business tycoon who founded Reliance Industries. Ambani took Reliance public in 1977 and was worth $25.6 billion upon his death. In 2016, he was honoured posthumously with the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honour for his contributions to trade and industry. Reliance company founded by him has become the largest company in India today.
(2) Mr. Ratan Naval Tata (Born: December 28, 1937 at Mumbai) – He is an Indian industrialist, and a former chairman of Tata Sons. He was the chairman of Tata Group, from 1990 to 2012, and again, as interim chairman, from October 2016 through February 2017, and continues to head its charitable trusts. He is the recipient of two civilian awards of India, the Padma Vibhushan (2008), the second highest civilian honour, and the Padma Bhushan (2000),the third highest civilian honour. Born in 1937, he is an heir of the Tata family, and son of Naval Tata who was later adopted by Ratanji Tata, son of Jamsetji Tata, the founder of Tata Group. He is an alumnus of the Cornell University College of Architecture and Harvard Business School through the Advanced Management Program that he completed in 1975. He joined his company in 1961 when he used to work on the shop floor of Tata Steel, and was the apparent successor to J. R. D. Tata upon the latter’s retirement in 1991. He got Tata Tea to acquire Tetley, Tata Motors to acquire Jaguar Land Rover, and Tata Steel to acquire Corus, in an attempt to turn Tata from a largely India-centrist group into a global business.Although most of Ratan Tata ‘s decision on Inorganic Growth of Tata Group have been little success he tried his best being a Non Bloodline heir to the Tata Group. Around 60-65% of his profits are donated to charity making him one of the most significant philanthropists in the world.
(3) Late Arun Jaitley (Born: December 28, 1952 at New Delhi, Died : 24 August 2019) – He was an Indian politician and attorney. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jaitley served as the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs of the Government of India from 2014 to 2019. Jaitley previously held the cabinet portfolios of Finance, Defence, Corporate Affairs, Commerce and Industry, and Law and Justice in the Vajpayee government and Narendra Modi government. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian award, posthumously in 2020 in the field of Public Affairs.
