Documents And Fees For Nomination In Panchayat Election In Bihar

Three-tier panchayat elections are going to be held in Bihar from April to May of 2021. In Panchayat elections, about ten lakh candidates try their luck for various posts. Of these, about five lakh candidates are new. These include candidates of all castes and religions. According to the commission, elections will be held for six types of posts during the panchayat elections in the state. These include the posts of Mukhia, Sarpanch, Ward Member, Panch, Panchayat Samiti Member and Zilla Parishad Members.

The number of vacancies for elections in 8387 gram panchayats is as follows.

Fee for nomination for post of Sarpanch – Rs. 1000/-
Fee for nomination for post of Panchayat Samiti Member – Rs. 1000/-
Fee for nomination for post of Panch – Rs. 250/-
Fee for nomination for post of Wars Member – Rs. 250/-
Fee for nomination for post of Member of Zila Parishad – Rs. 2000/-

Any interested candidate contesting the Panchayat elections has to go to the Block office to get a nomination. For this, the form is purchased by paying the prescribed fees for each post. After that, the form has to be filled up and submitted to the Election Office in block office along with the following documents –

(1) Copy of Voter ID Card (वोटर ID कार्ड की छायाप्रति)
(2) Copy Of Aadhar Card (आधार कार्ड की छायाप्रति)
(3) Form of detail and value of movable and immovable property (चल व अचल संपत्ति की छायाप्रति)
(4) Copy Of birth date certificate (जन्म तिथि का प्रमाणपत्र)
(5) Character certificate (चरित्र प्रमाणपत्र)
(6) Photocopy of Voter ID of the proposer (प्रस्तावक के वोटर ID की छायाप्रति)

A booth has been set up for 700 voters for Bihar Panchayat General Elections, 2021. A proposal has been sent to the Department of Panchayati Raj to conduct general elections from EVMs. The department has given in-principle consent to conduct the panchayat elections from EVMs and this proposal will be sent for the approval of the Council of Ministers. After the approval of the Council of Ministers, preparations will be started by the Commission regarding elections from EVMs.
